Chakvi is a Black Sea coastal climatic resort located 15 km from Batumi, on the banks of the Chakvistskali River. The area is famous for its exceptionally calm beaches, as well as its hydrogen sulfide, chloride-hydrocarbonate, and sodium-calcium mineral waters.
Chakvi is surrounded by Mtirala National Park, which is known as one of the most fertile places in Eastern Europe. Due to its ecological importance, the park is included in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage List.
The lush coastline, beautiful sea views, well-equipped beaches, comfortable hotels, and cafes attract many locals and tourists alike. Chakvi is a perfect destination for lovers of sunny beaches.
People have lived in Chakvi since the Stone Age, and Bronze Age treasures have been discovered here. Chakvi was also one of the first centers of Georgian tea production. The development of tea culture in the region is closely associated with the Chinese tea master, Lao Jinjiao.
